Mash candle holder
This mouth-blown glass candlestick from Max Bülow Monterossi is a work of art in itself. The free-form glass base gives the candle a sculptural and vibrant touch, reminiscent of both melting ice and the constant movement of the ocean.
Maintenance
Glass plague (discoloration of the glass) does not occur during the processing of the glass.
According to the Swedish Glass Research Institute RI.SE, glass plague occurs when the dishwashing temperature is too high and the dishwasher detergent is used.
Unfortunately, it is especially the environmentally friendly phosphate-free soaps that are hard on the glass.
When machine washing above 52 degrees, the structure of the glass opens and the dirty water settles on the glass. When the glass cools, the structure contracts and the dirt cannot come out.
Glass plague can occur on the cheapest factory-made glass and on the most expensive handmade glass.
Unfortunately, we cannot replace glasses that have suffered from glass plague, as the problem lies solely in the individual dishwasher / dishwasher detergent.
If you want to be absolutely sure to keep your glasses nice and shiny, wash them by hand.
Prevent candlesticks from breaking
Avoid letting candles burn all the way down the stem, as this can cause the candle to burst due to the heat. Use self-extinguishing candles if necessary.
